Transylvania Regional Hospital Names Johnson VP, Chief Operating Officer
BREVARD, N.C., July 12, 2010 – Ruth Johnson has been named the Vice President/Chief Operating Officer of Transylvania Physicians Services Inc. (TPSI), an affiliate of Transylvania Regional Hospital. Johnson will oversee operations of the physician organization, support the medical staff and align the interests of the physicians and the hospital.
With an extensive career and expertise in healthcare management, Johnson has held leadership roles at several of the region’s top healthcare organizations. Most recently, she served as vice president of physician services at Park Ridge Hospital. She served as CEO of Blue Ridge Bone and Joint, the region’s largest orthopaedic practice and as the western regional manager for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina.

Johnson is an Asheville native and received her education at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. She began working at Transylvania Regional Hospital on July 6.
